小王子拜候的第五顆星球非常奇特，這個星球是這些星星中最小的一顆。星球上剛好隻能容得下一盞路燈和一個點路燈的人。小王子冇法瞭解，這個坐落在天空某一角落，既冇有房屋又冇有住民的行星上，要一盞路燈和一個點燈的人做甚麼用。

因而他又燃燒了路燈。

"Then― the planet now makes a complete turn every minute, and I no longer have a single second for repose. Once every minute I have to light my lamp and put it out!""That is very funny! A day lasts only one minute, here where you live!""It is not funny at all!" said the lamplighter. "While we have been talking together a month has gone by.""A month"
